Hard Fun and The Beautiful – Looking Forward Edition

Where we are free to talk about the hard, the fun, and the beautiful of our work week.

When we gaze off and zone out there are usually thoughts of grandeur. Maybe writing a book, taking your kids to Disneyland or getting a promotion. Whatever it is, these thoughts have a ton of motivation in them. I constantly picture myself standing in front of thousands of people and giving a keynote about work happiness. It’s a subject that many people need to learn about.

You think about the possibilities and now you need to figure out how to make it happen. That means creating a Happy at Work Project to make your dreams come alive.

Planning the future. I see so many possibilities, but also chances of failure. It’s time to take this business to the next level and start offering online classes and products. This fear will drive me to make the services and products awesome, but it’s still scary. I know that there will always be a small group of people who are unhappy with what I produce. It’s the nature of the game. I need to stop worrying and just launch what I already have created. In the next two weeks I will announce a three class teleseminar to help people get a better grasp on their work happiness. That’s my promise to you. I will offer the discount rate to my newsletter subscribers, so if you haven’t signed up yet you better do it soon so you don’t miss out.

I bought my SxSW ticket this past week. My wife could see my excitement, so the $395 price tag didn’t scare her too much. $400 is a lot of money to drop on an event when we are living on 1.5 incomes (Nikki has gone part-time while Gavin (new baby) is learning how to deal with being alive). I have to think in terms of abundance. I know that the conference will pay off. I made too many great contacts last year that have already helped me fast forward my career.

Dreams. I love getting lost in thought, especially when it’s a daydream about optimizing my potential. You know what I’m talking about. That perfect scenario that lights a fire underneath your butt. I envision myself being an expert in work happiness, helping people all over the world. I become so good that CEOs of the Fortune 500 companies hire me to create a work happiness project for them. They are so grateful that they pay my salary and throw in a bonus trip to their vacation getaway for two weeks. My family and I just go chill out in Fiji before my next client needs me.

How about you?
